The first requirement of a successful Blog or Mini-Site is that it has to target a group of people (a niche) who are hungry for information about a specific topic. In other words, select the right niche problems ones that you have solutions for. Solutions that people are looking for.
Focus your Blog or Mini-Site on people who have specific problems. But, make those solutions ones that eliminate pain, make money, create popularity or ones that improve something in the lives of your visitors.
Pain can be financial pain, physical pain, emotional pain…pain is important because people who experience pain are people who want to buy solutions.
Think of this approach as a positive way that you are helping others. And, if you care about helping others, if you really offer a solution; then people will appreciate your help and purchase from you.
Your focus on a problem that your visitors face is only the first step. The next step is to determine if there are enough people searching for solutions to this problem on the Internet.
Just how many folks need to be searching for this solution depends upon the offer that you have built to solve their problems. But, the number does not have to be thousands, or even hundreds of people per day..
With some niche Blogs of Mini-Site, all you need is ten visitors to your site a day and you can turn a substantial monthly profit. Other niches and products might need thousands of visitors per day. Profitability depends on what you sell, who you sell to, and how much commission you make on each sale.
Your profit also depends upon what you sell on the Back-End, and what you sell with follow-up offers.
So, check the search volume for specific terms related to the niche. Use a tool like Wordtracker, or even Google Keyword Search.
Check for how many searches per day a particular keyword or phrase gets. Then, check for whether there are other Mini-Site or Blogs that are competing in the same niche.
And do not be afraid of competition. Be grateful for it.
A lack of competition in a niche might just mean that this is not a profitable niche.
The best kind of competition in a niche is competition that is marginal and substandard. This way you compete by making a better Blog, by building a better Mini-Site, by providing better content, and by serving your Blog and Mini-Site visitors better than your competitors.
The final component needed to build a profitable niche strategy is a quality product for you to promote. You need a product that will sell, a product of high quality…a product that satisfies wants and solves needs.
A product that dissolves pain and brings pleasure is crucial.
Then, focus on building a great marketing strategy. Marketing requires materials and services such as sales letters, Opt-In pages, AutoResponders, Link cloaking Scripts, etc.
The right sales system, some folks call this the sales funnel, will convert Blog and Mini-Site traffic into customers, and pay commissions for those sales.
Of course, this assumes that you plan to sell affiliate products on your Blog or Mini-Site.
Otherwise, you will need to create your own product or service.
But, assess each of these factors when you select a niche and give your Blog or Mini-Site the best chance for success.
